They are called VZW Ringback Tones and they are an inexpensive way to keep the phone call as entertaining as you like. When someone calls you they hear a particular sound you have assigned to their number until you answer your phone or it rolls over to voicemail. You can even personalize the Ringback Tones, designating individual songs for individuals who call you. Verizon charges a monthly fee to use this service and they offer two ways to get the music downloaded to your phone.
